3-Acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid (AKBA) antitumor and anti-inflammatory activities. It is a potent non-redox, noncompetitive 5-lipoxygenase and topoisomerase I and IIa inhibitor leading to apoptosis. It exhibits in vivo efficacy in tumor growth inhibitio and has been studied for potential use in the control of inflammatory diseases, including arthritis and cancer.
