- Cyanine dye. Spectral data: Absorption: λmax 638nm (MeOH). Used for the determination of different copper ions Cu(I), Cu(II),and Cu(III) in semiconductor samples and in an environmental friendly Cu extraction procedures. Used as a marker for thermosensitive in situ gelling delivery systems. A different salt form of the compound and laser dye Hexacyanine 2 (iodide salt).
