7-Acetoxycoumarin is a coumarin derivative widely used as a synthetic intermediate in organic and medicinal chemistry research. The acetoxy functional group provides a convenient site for chemical modification, making this compound a valuable building block for the synthesis of fluorescent probes, biologically active molecules, and specialty materials. 7-Acetoxycoumarin is commonly employed in studies involving coumarin-based compounds and their applications in chemical and pharmaceutical research. 7-Acetoxycoumarin also has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in cell-based studies. It significantly inhibits inflammatory responses in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophage cells.
