      Description
Azure B is a cationic thiazine dye widely used in histology, cytology and microbiology for biological staining applications. It is commonly employed as a component of Romanowsky-type stains, including Giemsa and related staining systems, where it contributes to the selective coloration of cellular structures and nucleic acids. Known for its strong chromatic properties and reliable staining performance, Azure B is used in the visualization of blood smears, tissue sections, and microbial preparations. Its compatibility with other thiazine dyes, such as methylene blue and Azure A, makes it an important reagent for differential staining protocols in diagnostic and research laboratories. Spectral Data: ?ex 648 (in ethanol). Azure B is also a high-potency, selective and reversible inhibitor of monoamine oxidases (MAO)-A. It is the main Metabolite of methylene blue.
