- Phenmedipham-ethyl is an impurity of phenmedipham which is a carbanilate selective herbicide used post-emergence in beet crops after the emergence of most broad-leaved weeds and before they develop. Phenmedipham inhibits photosynthesis (photosystem II) and acts by disrupting carbon dioxide. This compound can be used as analytical reference material.
