(S)-5-Bromonaproxen (Naproxen Impurity C) is a brominated metabolite (most probably through reaction with water) from Naproxen which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to in the treatment of pain, menstrual cramps, inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, gout and fever. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory COX inhibitor. This product can be used as a secondary analytical reference standard or as an organic building block and intermediate for synthesis, especially targeted bromination.
