      Major metabolite and hydrolysis product of coumaphos, an organophosphate pesticide. Shown to have acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase inhibitor activity and moderate to weak &alpha,-glucosidase inhibitory and antioxidant scavenging activity. Also used as a building block in the synthesis of fluorogenic substrates for the detection of bacterial &beta,-Galactosidase.
