7-Methylcoumarin is an inhibitor for CYP2A6. It has strong hepatoprotective activity, which could be attributed to its potent antioxidant effects. 7-Methylcoumarin has moderate antimicrobial activity. The compound can be used as internal standard during HPLC analysis.
