Cyanophos is an organophosphate insecticide, which is effectively used against various root-parasitic nematodes such as Diaspididae, Lepidoptera, Coccidae, Aphididae and other insects on various fruits and vegetables. It is a acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor and antagonist of NMDA receptors. It shows a moderate to high level of toxicity to fish, algae and daphnia. Compound can be used as analytical reference material.
